About

Psychea delves into the depths of the mind. It's for the people who are curious about the 'Why' as well as the 'What'

Vision

We welcome submissions from anyone interested in the exploration of the human psyche and emotion. We seek work that challenges, reveals, and connects to both the intellect and the heart.

We invite:

Nonfiction writers- to share essays on mental health, disorders, psychological theory, and personal experience.

Fiction writers- to help us capture the complexities of the mind and its struggles.

Poets- to share their heart-touching pieces that give a voice to the emotional realities that are often left unspoken.

Artists- to create visual effects of mental disorders

Mission

Psychea is a digital magazine dedicated to exploring the human psyche through art, poetry, research, and storytelling. We have created a platform where creativity and psychology interlink, where scientific curiosity meets emotional truth. Our mission is to provide a space for open dialogue about mental disorders, mental health, self-perception, and unspoken thoughts and feelings. We believe that understanding the mind is not just about science, but also about human emotion. The stories we tell, poems we write, and the art we create, can show off more about the psychology of the mind than any textbook. Psychea encourages empathy, insight, reflection, and understanding in every published piece. Mental Illness isn't all bleak.

Inside the Mag

Untitled

Feeling everything yet feeling nothing,How do I describe numbness?you look into the light yet see nothing but gray. You hear the noise, but what does it say?try and carry your body full of cement, you’re here but you’re not. How do you live with nothing at all?you’re breathing but are you really alive? How foolish do you look reaching for the heart that broke you?looking for the smile that is capable of destroying you,Why go for the voice that screamed at you?you gave them the tools to your heart, you didn’t want to.But really, nobody said you had to.

Paranoia and Closure

pt. 1

I have a suspicion

a person is sneaking through my window

and living in my home with me.

The only evidence I have is a cup

half filled with cold tea.

Every morning I find it sitting on the counter

with no coaster beneath.

They must be coming in at night

maybe leaving before I wake.

I hardly drink it anymore but I keep buying it—for them.

Maybe one day we can sit together

and share a pot of tea.

Torn

Dear Me,
I know your body isn’t what society wants
But it can be the body you want
Stop wasting time in your life worrying about if you’re perfect
enough
And start thinking about the progress you’ve made
Appreciate the air you breathe
Appreciate the blood coursing through your veins
Appreciate your beating heart
And thank yourself for choosing to fight instead of letting
death take you away
